12 Apr Manufacturing Automation Careers in an Employee Recommended Workplace
Since 1989 Innovative Automation has been pioneering automation technology for manufacturing on a global scale. Our focus has allowed us to grow over the years and we don’t have any plans to slow down. As our reputation for high-quality and innovative systems has grown, so has our list of incoming clients.
Our team of machine builders, controls programmers, and mechanical designers is growing and we’re looking for great candidates who want to work with a company that supports and invests in their team. Innovative Automation is located in the beautiful city of Barrie, just 40 minutes north of the GTA. Barrie offers a tremendous lifestyle filled with outdoor activities, a close community feel, and a vibrant economy.
Throughout the automation industry, Innovative Automation has long been known as cutting edge. Over the years we have tackled a variety of projects, each with their own unique requirements and specifications. Everyone in our team enjoys taking on these new and exciting challenges as it pushes us to learn new skills and expand our areas of expertise.
The Benefits of Innovative Automation’s Company Culture
We are committed to ensuring our employees are treated equally with respect and fairness. Every employee is a member of our team, and by working together we ensure everyone is empowered to make decisions and have their voices heard.
The Globe and Mail’s Employee Recommended Workplace Award recognizes companies whose employees are productive, engaged and healthy. Based on feedback from employees, this award is a true reflection of progressive company culture. Innovation Automation has been an employee recommended workplace for two years running and aims to continue the trend.
An important aspect of having a productive and happy workforce is a fair and competitive compensation that allows everyone the opportunity to build a future. Benefit plans include health, dental, life and LTD insurance, and a Group RRSP to keep our employees and their families healthy.
Another one of our goals is to see our employees grow and succeed. With that in mind, we have a training program for our young workers which starts with a co-op placement during college, and enrolls them in an Electrical or Mechanical apprenticeship upon graduation. This allows them to gain valuable hands-on experience and Engineering knowledge that will enable them to grow into senior positions down the road. We offer career coaching, mentoring and development opportunities to every one of our employees because when they succeed, we succeed too.
Working together means that we grow close and begin to consider one another family. Social events like Friday morning Hockey League, summer BBQ’s, golf tournaments, summer softball league, Colts nights, ski trips, Christmas parties and more are very popular. We work hard at innovating and creating high-quality systems, but know how to relax and have fun when the day is over. Whether you’re a recent graduate starting out in the world of automation or getting close to retirement, you’ll find an activity and group of new friends to join you.
Safety At Innovative Automation
One of the most important aspects of a productive and healthy workplace is keeping everyone safe. Innovative Automation has been recognized as one of Canada’s Safest Employers by Canadian Occupational Safety four times.
Our commitment to keeping our employees safe has allowed us to work over 1 million hours without a lost time accident.
Rewarding and Challenging Work
Innovation Automation has completed work in the automotive, consumer goods and medical device industries. Our people have over 25 years of automotive, automated, assembly systems and test systems experience backing them up. These skills allow us to keep our projects on track in terms of budget and time management.
Our design department is where every project begins. The design team considers the safety, ergonomics, efficiency, layout and much more to create the machine design. Our in-house automation machine build team takes over for the next step. We focus on our employees development so we have the highest skilled and experienced people working towards our customer’s success.
