Training and Development

Our Training Model for Young Workers begins with a co-op placement. Successful candidates are then offered full time employment and immediately enrolled in an Electrical or Mechanical apprenticeship at our Barrie automation plant. This ensures that our employees are equipped with the Engineering knowledge and the hands on skills required to grow into more Senior roles such as Controls Programmers or Machine Builder. From mentoring, career coaching and career development, Innovative invests in every employee to ensure they have the proper resources and tools to do the job. Innovative loves watching our employees grow and learn new skills. We will always help employees become the best they can be


Many social and community events are available for employees to participate in. Social events include: Friday Morning Hockey league, Summer BBQs, Employee Appreciation Events, Golf Tournament, Summer Softball league, Family Colts night, Family Ski nights, Christmas Party, Kids Christmas party and many more.

Sr. Mechanical Designer

Design the mechanical portion of custom automation equipment to client and IAI specifications. Use research techniques, combined with various outside sources of information, to create and verify the design.

Controls Programmer Group Leader

The Group Leader supports the safe and timely completion of departmental deliverables through day to day prioritization, assignment of resources, technical guidance and the Human Resources requirements of the department.

Sales Account Manager

To generate individual sales to meet or exceed the annual specified sales target value established for the Sales Engineer.   The applicant must have 3 years experience selling custom automated assembly and test equipment.  Preference will be given to candidates who have recent sales experience selling automated systems in one or more of the following segments:

  1. Automotive
  2. Medical Devices
  3. Electric Vehicle
  4. Electronic Modules/Assemblies
Electrical Designer

Responsible for designing electrical control systems and schematics for custom automation equipment.

309A Apprentice Electrician or Journeymen

To build and wire electrical control panels and sub-assemblies using the engineering package generated by the Electrical designer.
